RECREATION AT COLIBITA LAKE
Colibiţa is a corner of nature that combines both the wild mountain sceneries and the mysterious beauty of the sea. Located at 900 meters altitude on the mountain peaks of Călimani Massif, the lake is surrounded by wooded hills at the foot of which a fine sand beach was set up. The houses scattered on the hills, the towering fir trees, the thin air and the absolute silence make this area an ideal destination for relaxation.
On the shore of the lake you can find accommodation in guesthouses and board and lodgings, or you can rent bungalows located very close to the water. If you prefer the rustle of the trees and the chirping of birds, you can choose the spacious campgrounds where you can set up tent; this way you will enjoy the first rays of the morning and you will fully savornature’s spectacle.
Those who want a refreshing ride on the lake can opt for boat races. To adrenaline lovers we recommend rowing boats and kayaks, and for extreme sensations it is possible to practice rafting and windsurfing. The green ofthe forest, the mountains which appear on the horizon and the clear water give you the feeling of absolute freedom and help you recharge your batteries. In addition, the strong ozone air is beneficial for health, as a sanatorium dedicated to treating lung diseases functions nearby.
Fishermen don't get bored at Colibiţa either; except for the prohibition period (April-May), you can try your luck on both shores of the lake. The predominant species are the crucian carp, the zander, the chub and the bleak.
Do you like hiking sprinkled with unusual discoveries? On days with good weather you can go on trips to the Borcut mineral water spring, to Bistricioru peak, or to the Bistrita Defile. The landscapes are beautiful and invite you to walk the trails in search of the most beautiful places.
Combining the mountain and water so harmoniously, Colibiţa fascinates you and makes sure you promise to meet again. An oasis of peace and joy, the lake invites you to enjoy nature and forget about all your worries.
