Cheile Gradistei Dirt Fest

Sep 2017

The “Cheile Gradistei Dirt Fest” Contest was first held in 2013 and it takes place every year in September at the Cheile Gradistei Fundata Olympic Base. The event is intended for those who love two-wheel, off-road sports and reunites sportsmen from all over the country and from abroad.

Cheile Gradistei Dirt FestAmateurs of extreme sports are invited to participate in a series of contests like downhill, 4Cross, superenduro, mountain board and relay race. The superenduro event will take place on a loop track of over 5 km between Cheile Gradistei Moeciu and Cheile Gradistei Fundata. The wilderness and the natural sceneries along with the adrenaline of the competition offer a unique, unforgetable experience. The 4Cross and mountain board events take place on the ski ramp at an altitude of 1300 m and are packed with obstacles. The competitors who want to show off their skills and mastery must be over the age of 17.

The downhill mountain biking event implies permanent timing throughout the contest day. Thus, you can overcome your limits and improve your performance. The categories for the participants are the following: juniors (14-16 years old), elite (17-29 years old), masters (over 30), hardtail and girls. For the Crazy Bear relay race, teams consisting of a biker and an endurist can sign up. The former goes down the 4Cross track and his teammates end the challenge on top of the track.

The training sessions, the qualifications and the competitions all take place in the same day, while the evening ends with the award ceremony and a party around the camp fire. The atmosphere is kept alive by professional riders who provide the public with amazing demonstrations of their skills. If you love adventure and extreme sensations be sure to sign up for the “Dirt Fest”!
